Tonks Grove was a unique 1800's enclave combining small workers dwellings and generous inner city Edwardian housing with a narrow gateway to the Grove defined by two-storied shops. Saved as a result of community protest, the building of Tonks Grove today provide a glimpse in to Wellington's past.
